It truly earned it's place as one of the greatest epic poems of all time, a very interesting and captivating story, even if it was a bit hard to read and understand at times, but that's probably on me, haha.
By far one of the greatest books I've read, I found it a great way for me to start diving deeper into ancient greece and greek mythology, but I don't think I could properly describe how good it is.
An interesting metaphor for social isolation and how society (Gregor's family) treats him differently simply because he underwent the transformation into an insect. There are many ways one can interpret this story, but I personally see it as a critique to how society will simply ignore and mistreat those who, for any reason, become unable to work or need to stop being productive
in order to rest even for just a moment.
I don't really remember much of The Verdict, it was a very short quick paced story that I didn't really understand enought to form a proper opinion. Apologies.
This book moved me, it took me a few days to completely understand this book and have it click for me. I will not be delving deeper in order to avoid spoilers, but this is a book that I will surely never forget.
, I don't really have much more to say, a good poem from a great author, a staple of classic gothic literature that did live up to my expectations and the reviews I have read about it.
A very good book with a definitely captivating story. Even though I'm not a big fan of books in this style, I recognise that it is most definitely wonderful.
I found it very interesting, even though it is considerably short, definetely a good entry point for those interested in greek plays or just ancient greece in general. Unlike what I experienced with The Illiad and The Odyssey, Antigone was actually relatively easy to read and understand.
This is one of the ones that I can't really remember most of it, but I don't take it as a sign that the book is bad
or anything like that, I'm just not that big of a fan of Sherlock Holmes. It's a good book, don't get me wrong, but it's not really my cup of tea.
One of the best books I've read in the recent times. An interesting view on the duality of man and how we need to find balance between our virtues and vices, at least to my interpretation.
A very interesting story, It was very captivating character development and interesting characters, truly the masterpiece that I heard it was.
Most definetely one of the best books I have read in my entire life, a very interesting story, although I already knew most of it, it is very famous after all. I absolutely recomend it to anyone who is willing to put a good few weeks into a book, because you will not regret it.
It is short, shorter than I expected, but was still a very good read, even if I already knew most of the major plot points, since it is very famous
Agouro: A prediction or foretelling of the future, normally deducted from unusual circumstances, usually relating to sinister or menacing news or events. Omen.
This book hit close to home and it hit hard. I believe that is especially due to the author being from the same region and state as me. I could feel the horrors the characters went trough, in a way that I think I have never felt with any other book I have ever read.
I do believe that most of the people reading this will never get to read it, especially since it is very rooted in folk culture from my country that wouldn't really resonate with people who are not from here, not only that but it also doesn't have an english translation.
I truly believe that the english vocabulary does not posess words that can express what I felt reading this.
A truly captivating read, though I have yet to read other cosmic horrors, this is, supposedly, similar to Lovecraft's works, especially due to the fact that The King in Yellow was one of Lovecraft's greates inspiration.
The stories are interesting, many times during my read, I found myself rushing to read the rest of the stories as the school's alarm sounded for my class to leave, simply because I just had to knew what happened next. I truly recommended it, specially to those who wish to read horros beyond the human mind, but don't really want to jump into Lovecraft.
